Grand Prize

US$30,000 Signing Bonus:
Guaranteed opportunity to write lyrics for an upcoming HIM releasewrite lyrics for an upcoming HIM release, plus an exclusive 1-on-1 mentoring session with a master lyricist in Mandopop.

Travel & Accommodation Support to Attend HIM Songwriting Camp:
The Grand Prize winner will receive round-trip airfare and hotel accommodation to attend the HIM Songwriting Camp in Taipei.
If the winner is based in Taiwan, they may receive transportation support and accommodation.
The camp is a 4-day / 4-night intensive program featuring collaboration with international songwriters and HIM's award-winning production teamHIM's award-winning production team, tentatively scheduled for June 2026.

Merit Winners

Collaboration Opportunity:

Submission Rules

Composition

Upload one assigned song and one freely created original song:
Must submit 2 full-demo songs, including track, topline (melody, lyrics), and recorded vocals (No Language Limits on Lyrics). Type Beats and AI-generated works will not be accepted.

File size limit: under 20MB, and mp3 format.

 

Assigned Song: Choose one HIM artist — Yoga LinJUDbabyMINT — and compose a song specifically tailored for that artist. Click the artist's name to learn more about their style.

 

Original Song: Create freely in any style.

Lyric

Upload two rewritten lyrics:Must submit 2 lyric works based on the assigned HIM songs. Choose either Set A or Set B, then rewrite both songs with new lyrics (any theme is welcome). Lyrics must be at least 60% in Chinese, and AI-generated content will not be accepted. Please click the song titles to listen to the originals.

THE AWARD

Regulations

[Submission Requirements]

  1. Entries must be original, unpublished, and non-commercial works, and must follow the submission rules of each category.
  2. Entrants and their submitted works must not be bound by any existing contracts with management companies, record labels, music publishers, or any similar organizations.
  3. Composition Category: Submissions must include vocal performance together with musical accompaniment. Pure vocal tracks without any accompanying music are not accepted, but fully produced a cappella works are welcome.
  4. Composition Category: Submitted works must be complete songs. Fragmented submissions (e.g., only a verse or only a chorus) are not accepted.
  5. Entries must be appropriate in theme, must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and must not infringe upon any third-party rights, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, likeness, reputation, and privacy.
  6. The following works are not eligible, and confirmed violations will result in immediate disqualification:
    1. Any form of plagiarism or cover. Once confirmed by the organizer and judging panel, the entry is disqualified. The organizer will not assume responsibility for disputes arising from plagiarism or cover determinations.
    2. Works containing any AI-generated content, including but not limited to AI-generated melody, melody editing, lyrics, lyric editing, arrangement, vocals, harmonies, mixing, etc.
    3. Works using Type Beats of any kind.
    4. Works that have already been recorded, published, or commercially released are not eligible. Entries must not be released in any form before the competition officially concludes.
    5. Works that have previously won awards in any music competition.
    6. Works whose copyrights have been sold, assigned, gifted, co-owned, or otherwise no longer fully owned by the entrant.
    7. Works that are currently submitted to other companies, organizations, or contests and have not yet been released/returned or officially withdrawn.
    8. Works that are currently competing in any other competition with results pending.
    9. Entrants who currently have any existing contract with any domestic or international music publishing or management company.
    10. Works that have previously participated in another contest, won awards, been published, commercialized, or been involved in any licensing agreement.
    11. To ensure fairness, confidentiality, and avoidance of conflicts of interest, employees and relatives of the organizer, co-organizers, and sponsors are not allowed to participate. Violations will result in immediate disqualification.

[Important Notes]

I. Entrant Rules

  1. No restrictions on age, gender, region, or nationality.
  2. Each song or songwriter group will be treated as one entry.
  3. Each entrant may submit up to two works per category (e.g., two for Composition and two for Lyric).
  4. Entrants must fully agree to all contest rules. Submission of the entry constitutes full acceptance of all terms and conditions.
  5. Personal information provided must be truthful and accurate. Providing false identity information will result in disqualification once verified.
  6. Entrants who violate any contest rules may be disqualified, and the organizer reserves the right to take legal action if necessary. The organizer also reserves the right to amend the contest rules as deemed necessary.
  7. Winners of the "HIM Songwriting Camp" prize must sign an Attendance Commitment Letter within the specified deadline after confirming travel intent. The organizer will cover flights and accommodation. Entrants must attend the camp in full; unjustified absence, delays, or incomplete participation may result in disqualification and require reimbursement of any travel and accommodation expenses already paid by the organizer.
  8. Winners must grant exclusive licensing of their selected works to HIM International Music. In addition, HIM reserves the first priority right to sign the entrant as an exclusive songwriter.

II. Rights & Obligations

The organizer, HIM International Music, holds the following rights for this original music competition:

  1. To use the submitted works in accordance with the competition terms and to receive any revenues reasonably arising from such permitted uses.
  2. To reasonably use the participants' names and likenesses for the purpose of promoting the competition.
  3. To exercise other commercial rights related to the competition and participating artists, including but not limited to receiving sponsorship fees.
  4. The rights and obligations of partner organizations shall follow their respective agreements with the organizer.
  5. The rights and obligations of sponsoring organizations shall follow their respective agreements with the organizer.
  6. Participants agree that their submitted works may be used for promotional and evaluation activities related to the 20th HIM Global Online Songwriting Competition.
  7. The organizer reserves the right to revise and interpret the organizational rules of this competition.

By registering, participants agree to comply with all regulations stated above.
